GATARO Foundation aims to contribute to the sustainable improvement of the social, economic, and educational needs of young girls and women. The foundation will be starting with the Agataro project to support women within Kigali city whose livelihoods depend on hawking goods and products. In the eventual phases that follow the foundation will pursue Choose Green project. Both projects have one main goal: every person has access to independent, self-determined and sustainable livelihoods.

Purpose, Scope, and Objectives
GATARO Foundation aims to contribute to the sustainable improvement of the social, economic, and educational needs of young girls and women.
The scope of the projects will run for 5 years; the breakdown for Agataro Project will run for 2 years while the Choose Green project will run for 2 years plus a year to evaluate the project’s success in meeting the goals and objectives of the foundation.

Goals and Objectives of the Foundation:
● Assistance towards the maintenance and improvement of the women’s livelihoods
● Assistance in the advancement of culture and education to achieve excellence at all levels in the community
● Assistance to young people through the advancement of education and employment skills development
● Assistance in the knowledge acquisition and expansion of financial freedom

1.2 Project Deliverables
The first phase of the Agataro project will kick off on March 15th, 2022. The project will be split into two pathways where the trainees will :
a) Participate in theoretical learning covering courses from business ethics, recycling, and mental health among other sessions.
b) Participate in the physical sales of goods and products, including fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables.

Schedule:

The first cohort will undergo 6 months of training, where the session will run every Monday and Tuesday. The cohort will double within a year.
Every Wednesday Agataro market will be hosted at different venues to differentiate customer targeting for the trainees.
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the Agataro market will be hosted at KASO’s primary venue in the outdoor setting.
